Kickball Standings, For Your Amusement
This will be fun...and hopefully not too narcissistic. To all you nerdy or obsessive types, here's comes da math:
Winning Percentage = ((Mercy Wins * 1.5)+ Wins + (Ties / 2)) / Games Played.
Games Played = Mercy Wins + Wins + Losses + (Mercy Losses * 1.5) + Ties
Man, let's face it: the weather has sucked ass. We all better drop to our knees in supplication, because it's looking like Al Gore was right. I don't ever remember this much rain between May through July. We can only hope the rest of the season is dry. Let it pour in Ethiopia, we don't need anymore of this.
To yesterday's players, thank you for upholding the spirit of this league. We're all in this together. We've been though this before, but yesterday was very trying. Everything was slow and muddy, so thanks for playing through that.
To all those not in the know, there will be at least one extra Sunday for the regular season, August 30th. Then the next week, on Labor Day, we intend to do some type of charity event. If you'd like to help, please write brooklynkickball@gmail.com
The evening evolved slowly as Little League baseball went overtime (not extra innings, one team just couldn't buy an out). I know, something's gotta be done about those damn kids. Actually, they've gotta many good players in that league, and they;re good kids.
Anyway, email the Commish if you want him to take you out for a milkshake. He knows a little spot.
On behalf of Brooklyn Kickball, I thank all the participants of our 4th Annual National Tournament. We appreciate our guests - 2nd place Hoboken, Providence, Toronto, and Atlanta - for traveling far to our dirty field and playing ball all day. We trust it was worth the trip. All of our Brooklyn players seemed to have a fantastic day too.
Our next special events are the Playoff Commencement (August 30th) and the Dance (September 12th.
